Hannah Hall | Prep Gymnastics Scout
Region 7 gymnast Amaya Adaranijo, has been putting in work on floor, training a front through to round-off double pike and round-off back handspring full-in from the floor to a resi mat, as well as round-off back handspring double layout from the rod floor into the foam pit with excellent height. She competed a front layout double full and round-off back handspring double tuck last season, and adding these upgraded passes would raise her difficulty to an E. Adaranijo’s power and dynamic tumbling, paired with her showmanship and musicality make her a gymnast any college program would be lucky to recruit.

Amaya Adaranijo took a major step forward on vault last season, debuting a Yurchenko 1½ at Nationals and earning an impressive 9.800. The vault showcases explosive power off the table, with excellent height and dynamics that leave plenty of room for continued scoring potential. Her primary deduction came on the landing, where the same power that makes the vault so impressive occasionally results in a larger step. During this upgrade season, Adaranijo has already begun training a Yurchenko double, and the early progress is exciting, with exceptional block and lift off the table. While she is already an outstanding all-around gymnast, her vault alone has the potential to make her an immediate impact athlete for any collegiate program.
