The next wave of talent is already making its mark in Region 6. As the 2026-27 season approaches, a new group of incoming freshmen is ready to step onto the high school stage, bringing a mix of proven competition experience, exciting skill sets, and plenty of potential. From standout Level 10s to rising athletes ready for a bigger spotlight, these freshmen could make an immediate impact and become names college coaches will want to keep on their radar. Here are the Region 6 incoming freshmen to watch this season.

Bella Corsello brings plenty of personality and athleticism to her gymnastics, with a style that makes her especially fun to watch. She showed strong potential across the lineup last season, including a Yurchenko pike on vault with impressive distance, a back handspring-layout stepout on beam, and a 1.5-front pike on floor. She is now building an exciting collection of upgrades, highlighted by a Gienger on bars, a Yurchenko layout and twisting on vault, and major tumbling additions on floor including a full-in, double layout, front Rudi, and 1.5-front full. Her beam training is equally ambitious, with an aerial-split jump-back tuck and back handspring-back handspring-layout in the works. With her combination of personality, power, and growing difficulty, Corsello is an athlete who can bring something special to the lineup.

After battling back from an injury, Zoey Shmays is back in the gym and preparing for an exciting freshman season. Before her time away, she showed plenty of difficulty across the lineup, including a 2.5, front Rudi and a 1.5 front pike on floor, a Yurchenko layout on vault, and a strong beam routine highlighted by a back handspring-layout stepout and round off-1.5 dismount. Now, Shmays is focused on rebuilding and progressing, with an aerial on beam already in training. Her return to the gym marks an important step toward her freshman campaign, and she will be one to watch as she continues working her way back into competition shape.

Emily Walsh made an immediate impression in her first Level 10 season, posting an impressive 37.575 season-high all-around score. She brings difficulty and versatility across the lineup, with a Yurchenko layout on vault, a dynamic beam routine featuring multiple connections, and a floor lineup highlighted by a double pike, 2.5, and 1.5-front pike. On bars, she competes a Pak, Maloney, and giant half-double tuck dismount. Walsh is now taking that strong foundation and pushing her difficulty even further, training a full-out dismount, full pirouette and Ray release on bars, along with a full-in, double layout and double Arabian on floor. After such a successful introduction to Level 10, Walsh has plenty of momentum heading into her next season.

Alexis Chung is coming off a strong Level 9 season, highlighted by a 36.425 season-high at Easterns. She brings a balanced lineup with clean connections on beam and a solid foundation across all four events, including a Yurchenko layout on vault and a floor routine featuring a front layout-front pike, front full-front pike, and a full. Chung is now building toward increased difficulty, training a Yurchenko tuck full on vault, a front Rudi and double tuck on floor, and a bail to handstand on bars. With her Level 9 experience behind her and upgrades underway, Chung has an exciting opportunity to continue raising her ceiling.

Kayla Dillon is coming off her first Level 10 season, gaining valuable experience while showing the confidence and composure that make her a standout, especially on floor and beam. She competed a Yurchenko layout on vault, a double tuck and 1.5-front pike on floor, and a beam routine highlighted by a back handspring-layout two-foot and cartwheel-Gainer full dismount. Dillon is now building on that foundation with a more difficult beam series and a double pike in training on floor. With her confidence continuing to grow alongside her upgrades, Dillon has the opportunity to make a strong step forward in her next Level 10 season.

Savannah Tracy is coming off a strong Level 9 season and is using her upgrade season to add new difficulty across the lineup. She competed a Yurchenko layout on vault, a back handspring-layout stepout and switch leap-tuck 3/4 on beam, and a floor routine featuring a front full and 1.5-front tuck. Tracy is now working toward a more challenging beam series, including back handspring-back handspring-layout stepout and switch leap-back tuck, while also developing a front double full, double tuck, double pike, and front Rudi on floor. On bars, she is training a toe-shoot to high bar, Pak salto, and double tuck dismount. With upgrades taking shape across multiple events, Tracy has plenty of potential to build on her Level 9 foundation.
