Hidden Gems of the Sunshine State

Florida is home to some of the nation's top gymnastics talent, but plenty of standouts are still flying under the radar. These hidden gems from the Sunshine State are making their mark and deserve a closer look.    Tori Naccarato is a confident athlete who brings plenty of personality and impressive difficulty to the competition floor. She competes a Yurchenko full on vault, a back handspring-layout stepout and switch leap-switch leap series on beam, and a Church release and Pak salto on bars. On floor, Naccarato showcases a front through to double tuck, front double full, and double pike. She's also training upgrades like a Yurchenko 1.5, full-in and front double full-front tuck on floor, and a full-out dismount on bars, giving her plenty of room to continue raising her level.     Addy Cullen brings a strong mix of skill, confidence, and personality to the competition floor. She has shown impressive potential across all four events, including an aerial-round off connection and back tuck on beam, a Pak-1/2 pirouette and clear hip handstand-double tuck dismount on bars, and a front full-front tuck combination and double tuck on floor. On vault, Cullen competes a front handspring-front tuck and is training a front handspring-front tuck 1/2. Her training upgrades, including a double layout, front through to double tuck, double pike, 1.5-front layout, and full-in on floor, a Shaposh and double layout dismount on bars, and a Barani on beam, point to plenty of progress as she continues to develop.     McAllister Whelan combines strong tumbling, clean lines, and great showmanship across all four events. On floor, Whelan competes a double pike, double tuck, and front layout-front full, while showcasing plenty of personality. She brings a confident presence to beam with a Barani, back handspring-layout stepout, and Gainer full dismount. On bars, she features a clear hip to handstand-toe shoot and double tuck dismount, while her layout Yurchenko stands out on vault for its excellent form. Whelan is also training several exciting upgrades, including a front double full, double layout, and full-in on floor, a blind change-Jaeger on bars, and new vault and beam skills that could add even more difficulty to her routine.     Miabella Berrido stands out with a polished presence, clean execution, and impressive tumbling across all four events. On beam, she combines precise choreography with an aerial, back handspring-layout stepout, switch leap-back tuck, and round off-1.5 dismount. Her Yurchenko layout on vault shows excellent height, while bars features a blind change-bail and double tuck dismount. On floor, Berrido showcases an easy-looking double tuck, big leaps, front full, and 1.5-front pike. She is also training upgrades including a double pike and 1.5-front layout on floor, a Barani on beam, and a Yurchenko full on vault.     Kate Anderson is a versatile gymnast with a strong mix of difficulty and exciting upgrades in the works. On bars, she competes a toe-on-front tuck dismount, while her Yurchenko layout on vault provides a solid foundation for future upgrades. Floor features a front Rudi-stag leap and front pike through to 1.5, while beam includes an aerial and back handspring-tuck 1.5 dismount. Anderson is training several notable upgrades, including a Shaposh and toe-on dismount variations on bars, a 2.5 twist, front through to double tuck, and double pike on floor, plus a Yurchenko full on vault. Her beam training also includes a front toss-back handspring and aerial-split jump combination. She's an athlete to pay attention to as she enters her senior season.     Gwen Feibel brings impressive power and consistency across all four events. On floor, she competes a double pike and front through to 1.5, while beam features a back handspring-layout stepout and aerial. She adds a Gienger release and double pike dismount on bars, and her Yurchenko layout on vault stands out for its impressive power. Feibel is also training exciting upgrades, including a Yurchenko full, Gienger-bail connection and double layout dismount on bars, and a Barani, wolf double turn, and aerial-split jump on beam. As she enters the season, she's an athlete that's sure to stand out.     Jillian Hunefeld combines elegant lines with impressive difficulty and a strong foundation across all four events. On bars, she competes a blind change-Jaeger, clear hip handstand-Pak, and double tuck dismount. Her Yurchenko layout on vault shows good distance from the table, while floor features a front full, whip back-1.5, and front Rudi. On beam, Hunefeld stands out for her long, elegant lines, along with an aerial, back handspring-layout stepout, and cartwheel-Gainer full dismount. She is training several exciting upgrades, including a Yurchenko tuck 1.5, full-out dismount on bars, and increased difficulty on both beam and floor, including a Gainer double full, Rudi-back tuck, whip-triple full, 2.5, double tuck, and double pike.     Melany Montoto stands out for her artistry, flexibility, and polished presentation, bringing a unique presence to every event. On beam, she competes a back handspring-back handspring series, front aerial, and front walkover-front full dismount. Her floor routine showcases extreme flexibility, beautiful choreography, and tumbling that includes a front layout-front full, 1.5, and front layout-front pike. On bars, Montoto features a 1/2 pirouette-bail and double tuck dismount, while her Yurchenko pike on vault displays superior height and distance. She is also training a Yurchenko full and several beam upgrades, including a front aerial-back handspring and front walkover-front tuck, giving her an exciting combination of artistry and potential for added difficulty. She's a standout to watch entering her freshman season.     Eva Iannarelli brings impressive quickness and confidence to all four events, highlighted by her extremely fast twisting on floor. She competes a front layout-front Rudi and 2.5, along with a Yurchenko full on vault. On beam, Iannarelli showcases a front toss-back handspring, front tuck, and Gainer full dismount, while bars features a clear hip handstand, blind change-Khorkina, bail, vertical handstands, and double tuck dismount. She is training even more difficulty, including a full-out dismount on bars, double tuck and front double full on floor, front through to 2.5, and a back handspring-layout stepout on beam. She's been working and making the progressions to shine her senior season.    The Sunshine State continues to produce impressive gymnastics talent, and these hidden gems are names worth keeping an eye on as they continue to rise.
