Maul brings a rare sense of grace to every event, but it is especially striking on beam. Her tumbling seems to float effortlessly over the beam, with each skill blending naturally into the choreography rather than feeling like a separate moment. She brings the same quality to vault, where she is able to generate impressive power while maintaining an almost effortless, graceful appearance. She explodes off the table, yet somehow makes the skill look easy. On floor, Maul shows another side of her artistry, demonstrating an ability to truly perform and showcase her routine. She understands how to use movement, expression, and presentation to draw the audience into the performance rather than simply moving from one skill to the next. As a committed Alabama gymnast, that combination of power, grace, and performance ability should make her a valuable addition to the Crimson Tide lineup.

Taylor Maul brings a unique vault to this lineup. Last season at Nationals Maul debuted her front Pike 1/2 scoring a 9.750, which secured her second place on the event. Although the entry is different Maul generates the same power you see from athletes competing a Yurchenko entry vault.

Mauls straight legs throughout her vault and chest up body position on the landing add to the overall execution of the skill. As she continues to develop this vault, it will be an exciting addition to Alabama’s lineup and one to watch in the coming seasons.
