Rylan Sams is already the kind of gymnast who can make an immediate impact in a vault lineup. Her Yurchenko full is powerful and aggressive, with the kind of attack that makes it impossible to miss. She consistently fights for the stick, showing both the confidence and competitiveness to take on a difficult vault and finish it with purpose. Her presence alone makes her a gymnast worth watching in any lineup, and with her high school career still ahead, there’s plenty of room for her gymnastics to continue to grow. We expect Rylan to keep pushing her difficulty and making upgrades, and we’re excited to see just how much bigger her vault can become as she takes the next steps in her career.

Ryan Sams is an incredible All-Arounder, but where she stands out most is beam and floor. She brings unique acro skills to beam but performs them with confidence and ease. She has been training a side aerial 2 foot split jump connection and a side aerial to arabesque giving her routine a unique look.

Sams also brings plenty of power on both floor and vault. Sams has a yurchenko 1 ½, one of the key vaults coaches look for when recruiting for the next level. On floor, she also has been training a punch front through to round off 1 ½ front layout and a punch front double full, upping her difficulty on that event. Sams controlled power on tumbling and confidence on beam set her apart from the rest and make her a standout in the 2030 class.

Rylan Sams is a talented prospect who has already established herself as a standout vaulter while continuing to develop into a strong all-around gymnast. Sams competes a powerful Yurchenko full with excellent distance from the table, showcasing impressive amplitude and confidence on the event. Her vault ability is a major strength and makes her a gymnast to watch as she continues to elevate her difficulty.

Beyond vault, Sams brings versatility across all four events and continues to expand her skill set with exciting upgrades in progress. On floor, she is training advanced tumbling combinations including a front through to 1.5-front layout, front double full, and 2.5 twist. On beam, she is developing upgrades such as a Barani-split jump, aerial-to-scale connection, side somi, and front toss-back handspring series. She is also adding difficulty on bars with upgrades like a clear hip handstand-to-Maloney connection and bail to handstands.

With her powerful vault, well-rounded skill set, and continued focus on upgrades, Sams is a Class of 2030 athlete who has the tools to make a significant impact as she continues her gymnastics journey.
