Abbey Reid enters her freshman season as an excellent all-around athlete with a strong combination of difficulty, artistry, and polished execution. On bars, she competes a blind change-Jaeger, bail to handstand, and full pirouette-double tuck dismount, while her Yurchenko full on vault adds another strong event to her résumé. Beam is a standout, featuring a back handspring-back handspring-layout, back tuck, switch leap-split jump, and round-off 1.5 dismount, all enhanced by beautiful lines and confident presentation. On floor, Reid brings expressive choreography and great showmanship to a routine highlighted by a big double tuck with an easy landing, front layout-front full, and 1.5-front layout. She’s also training a Yurchenko 1.5, full-in, double layout dismount, clear hip-blind change, and front toss. With her well-rounded skill set and continued upgrades, Reid is an athlete to watch as she begins her freshman season.
