Her Yurchenko layout already stands out, and she is now training a Yurchenko full that could give her even more scoring potential on the event. That power carries throughout her routines, including a huge, high-flying double pike on floor alongside a front through to double tuck and 1.5-front layout. On beam, Grimes brings a strong acrobatic package featuring a front aerial-back handspring, back handspring-layout stepout, front tuck and round-off 1.5 dismount, while bars includes a Maloney and Pak salto. With her explosive gymnastics and a major vault upgrade on the horizon, Grimes has all the ingredients for a breakout sophomore season.
