The Class of 2028 is quietly becoming one of the most intriguing groups in the recruiting landscape, with more athletes beginning to separate themselves and make their names known. October is a chance to look beyond the obvious names and spotlight the gymnasts whose performances, progress, and recruiting momentum have us paying closer attention. In this month's Recruit Report, we're putting the spotlight on the 2028 prospects who are giving us plenty of reasons to start watching their journeys now.

Eden Fishman has a kind of power that catches you by surprise. At first glance, her gymnastics draws you in with beautiful form, polished presentation, and clear artistry, but then she throws a skill and the power behind it makes you stop and say wow. She has an impressive ability to pair the refinement and grace of her gymnastics with an explosiveness that isn't always expected, making her routines especially compelling to watch. That combination gives Eden a distinctive presence and makes her an exciting gymnast to follow this season. There are plenty of skills we're hoping to see her bring to competition. On bars, a Hindorff and Pak add exciting difficulty and dynamic movement, while a double layout dismount would give the routine a powerful finish. Her Yurchenko half on vault showcases the same explosiveness that makes her gymnastics stand out. Beam could be another highlight, with an aerial, front toss, switch leap–straddle 3/4, and a back handspring–1.5 dismount creating a routine with both difficulty and variety. On floor, her double tuck adds another powerful tumbling element to her repertoire. Eden has the rare ability to make you appreciate the details of her gymnastics and then immediately surprise you with just how much power she can generate. That balance of artistry, form, and unexpected explosiveness is what makes her so fun to watch, and we're excited to see how she brings it all together on the competition floor this season.

Lucy Sadowski's vault is a clear standout in her lineup, with an impressive Yurchenko full that already looks ready for the next level. She generates strong height and power off the table while maintaining a clean, controlled position, giving the vault the kind of quality that could make her an impact performer on the event at the college level. We're especially interested to see if she continues to push the vault toward an upgrade, because the foundation is already there for something even more exciting. There's plenty to look forward to across the rest of her routines as well. On floor, a full-in and front through to double pike give her plenty of tumbling difficulty and could make the event a major part of her all-around package. Bars brings a Tkatchev and Pak, adding dynamic releases and variety to her routine. On beam, it's not just the individual skills that stand out. The steady rhythm she maintains throughout the routine. She moves from skill to skill and through her tumbling with a calm consistency that gives the event a polished, composed feel. With standout vaulting, exciting tumbling upgrades, and the consistency to put together a strong all-around package, Lucy is someone we're excited to see compete across four events next season. We can't wait to see what she brings to her junior year, perhaps most exciting of all, which college ultimately gets to add her gymnastics to its lineup.

Journee Arthur has made a huge impact on her gymnastics this summer, combining exciting new upgrades with the refinement of the skills she already brings to the competition floor. Her power is impossible to miss, and she has a rare ability to make difficult gymnastics look almost casual, as if she's simply warming up rather than performing skills that could make a major impact in competition. We're especially excited to see her full-in and double layout make their way into competition, adding even more firepower to her already impressive floor routine. That power is felt across all four events. Her Yurchenko 1.5 is a major standout and already looks ready for the college stage, with the kind of explosiveness and amplitude that immediately catches your attention. On beam, she brings that same fearless power to her tumbling, making her front toss–back handspring–layout triple series look remarkably easy. The difficulty is impressive on its own, but the way Journee performs these skills with such confidence and control is what makes her gymnastics stand out. As she enters her junior season, Journee is a gymnast colleges should be keeping firmly on their radar. She has undeniable power, presence, and difficulty across every event, giving her the versatility and impact that could make her a valuable asset to any lineup. With the upgrades she has added and the refinement she has put into her existing gymnastics, we can't wait to see what she brings to the competition floor this season.

Jade Lee is bringing the upgrades this season to an already impressive lineup of gymnastics, and the added difficulty only makes her even more exciting to watch. On bars, her Tkatchev adds another dynamic element to a routine that already showcases her ability to move with confidence and control. Vault could be a major highlight, with both a Yurchenko full and Yurchenko 1.5 in the mix, giving her the kind of power and difficulty that can immediately change the impact of an event. On floor, her 1.5–front layout and double tuck bring plenty of tumbling power, while beam features a back handspring–layout two-foot that adds another strong skill to her repertoire. What makes Jade especially compelling, though, is the way she combines that clear power with an undeniable grace and presence. Her gymnastics never feels purely about the difficulty. She has a natural ability to make each skill and movement look polished, purposeful, and enjoyable to watch. That balance of strength and elegance gives her routines a distinct quality and allows her personality to come through in the way she performs. With upgrades across multiple events and an already impressive foundation, we're excited to see Jade bring this next level of gymnastics to the competition floor this season.

Sophie Rightmire's beam is an event we'll be watching closely as she heads into her junior season. She brings a quiet confidence to the apparatus that is difficult to replicate, creating a steady, composed presence that allows her skills and artistry to stand out. Her back handspring–layout step-out adds significant difficulty, but her side aerial may be the skill that best captures what makes Sophie so enjoyable to watch. She combines impressive power with beautiful form, attacking the skill with confidence while maintaining the polished presentation that defines her gymnastics on the event. There's an ease to the way she moves across the beam, and her artistry makes the entire routine feel intentional from start to finish. That combination of power and polish carries over to her other events as well. On floor, Sophie brings powerful tumbling with a front Rudi, front layout–front full, and double tuck, giving her plenty of difficulty to work with. Her vault is another reason to be excited, with a clean Yurchenko layout that already has the height and power we'd expect from a vault ready to twist. As she continues to develop her routines, Sophie has the tools to make an impact across multiple events. With her steady beam presence, beautiful artistry, and powerful gymnastics, Sophie brings a confidence to the competition floor that immediately catches your attention. We can't wait to see how she puts it all together and what she brings to her junior season.

DeVyn Ellis may have had her season cut short by injury, but everything we're seeing points toward a return that could be even stronger than where she left off. She brings a clean, powerful presence to every event, with the kind of consistency and confidence that immediately feels at home on the competition floor. There's a collegiate quality to her gymnastics that stands out—not just in the difficulty of her skills, but in the way she carries herself through each routine. She has the reliability and polish you expect from a gymnast who could step into a college lineup and make an impact. We're especially excited to see what she brings with her upgrades this season. On vault, her front handspring–front tuck adds another powerful option, while floor could be a major highlight with a double tuck and front double full giving her plenty of tumbling difficulty. Beam showcases the combination of difficulty and control that makes DeVyn so compelling, with a front toss–back handspring, back handspring–layout, and switch half all in the mix. She attacks her skills with confidence while maintaining the clean presentation that has become such a defining part of her gymnastics. After an abbreviated season, DeVyn has plenty of reason to come back motivated, and we're excited to see her back on the competition floor. Her combination of power, reliability, clean execution, and unmistakable collegiate presence makes her a gymnast we expect to be even more impressive when she returns.

Kaylee Skarda has put in the work this summer, and the upgrades she's been training give us plenty to look forward to heading into next season. She already brings a powerful, confident presence to her gymnastics, and the added difficulty only makes her routines more exciting. On vault, her Yurchenko full brings another level of power, while bars could be a major highlight with a blind change–Jaeger–bail combination and a double layout dismount giving the routine both difficulty and momentum. Beam showcases the range of skills Kaylee has been developing, with an aerial, front toss, back handspring–back tuck, and back handspring–Gainer full all in the mix. She attacks the event with the same confidence she brings across the rest of her gymnastics, making even difficult skills feel deliberate and controlled. On floor, her double back, Rudi–layout step-out, and double pike give her plenty of firepower and create a routine we'll be excited to see in competition. With upgrades across all four events and the powerful presence she already brings to every routine, Kaylee has given us plenty of reasons to be excited about what's ahead. We're looking forward to seeing how she brings all of that summer work together when she steps onto the competition floor next season.

Hazel Stein has put in serious work this summer, approaching upgrades with a fearless attitude and a willingness to take on new skills. That mindset is already showing in the routines she's building for her junior season. The combination of the difficulty she already possesses and the upgrades she has been working toward gives Hazel plenty of potential to make an impact, making her a gymnast we'll be keeping firmly on our radar this season. There are several skills we're especially excited to see make their way into competition. Her Yurchenko full gives vault an exciting boost, while bars could feature a Jaeger, Pak, and double layout dismount, creating a routine with plenty of difficulty and variety. Beam may be where her signature artistry shines brightest. Her back handspring–layout–layout is a major skill, but her front aerial is particularly beautiful to watch, with the artistry and presentation that have become such a defining part of Hazel's gymnastics. On floor, she has even more exciting possibilities with a 2.5 twist, front Rudi, and front full–front pike adding significant difficulty to her tumbling.

Brooklyn Suttory has put in the work this summer, and we're excited to see all of that preparation translate to the competition floor this season. Her bars are shaping up to be especially exciting, with a Shaposh, Gienger, and clear hip full pirouette adding difficulty and variety to the routine. She's also bringing upgrades to her other events, including a double tuck on floor and a Yurchenko full on vault. Each addition gives her routines another layer of difficulty while showing just how much she has continued to develop over the summer. What makes Brooklyn's gymnastics even more fun to watch, though, is the genuine joy she brings to every routine. Her smile and enthusiasm are impossible to miss, and that personality carries through her choreography and performance from start to finish. We're excited to see her pair that infectious energy with the upgrades she's been working on and watch all of that summer work come together when she steps onto the competition floor this season.

Ella DeFeo has us especially excited to see what she brings to the competition floor next season, with tumbling upgrades that could make her floor routine a major highlight. Her passes bring plenty of difficulty and excitement, but what makes them even more compelling is the performance quality she brings to her choreography. She knows how to connect her tumbling with the artistry and personality of the routine, creating a floor exercise that feels like a complete performance rather than simply a series of skills. Her Yurchenko full is another standout, with impressive height off the table and a clean, open body position that gives the vault a polished look. On beam, Ella brings the kind of confident presence and artistry that could translate beautifully to a college lineup. She performs her choreography with purpose and carries herself with the confidence needed to make the entire routine feel intentional. She's also working on exciting upgrades on bars, including a Tkatchev that adds another layer of difficulty to the event. With upgrades across multiple events and the performance quality to make them memorable, we're excited to see what Ella brings to her junior season.

After working through some small injuries, Rowyn Joseph looks to remain focused, and everything points toward a strong return for her junior season. Bars is already giving us plenty of reason to be excited, with a clear hip blind in training adding another layer of difficulty and showcasing the quality of her work on the event. Her Maloney is especially impressive, with quick, big execution that makes a skill we see often stand out. She attacks the bar with confidence and speed, giving the routine a rhythm that keeps you watching. And then there's her dismount. Rowyn has been training a full-out that we would love to see make its way into competition, adding an exciting finish to an already promising bars routine. With her health trending in the right direction and upgrades continuing to develop, Rowyn looks ready to make her junior season an exciting one.

McKenna Wong's ability to pair power with grace makes her gymnastics especially compelling to watch. She brings an impressive attack to her skills while maintaining the control and polish that allow her gymnastics to stand out across all four events. On floor, her full-in is a pass we'd love to see make its way into her routine this season, while her Yurchenko full already looks ready for competition and gives her vault the kind of power that can make an immediate impact. That same attack carries over to beam and bars. She goes after her beam tumbling with confidence, making her front toss and side somi look almost effortless. She performs them so easily that you momentarily forget she's performing on four inches. On bars, her releases have the same aggressive quality, with a Jaeger that is both powerful and clean. McKenna has the rare ability to make big gymnastics look controlled without losing the explosiveness that makes it exciting, and we're eager to see how she brings that combination to competition this season.

The upgrades Evyn Hillstrom has been training this summer make her a name coaches should be paying close attention to. Her Yurchenko 1.5 is a major addition to her vault arsenal, bringing the kind of difficulty and power that could make her a valuable piece of any lineup. We're especially excited to see if she brings the upgrade to competition this season. Bars is another event where Evyn has plenty to offer. She combines power with a steady, controlled rhythm, highlighted by a full pirouette–Gienger combination and a double layout dismount that give the routine both difficulty and excitement. On floor, her tumbling brings that same explosive quality, with a double tuck that she makes look remarkably easy. With upgrades across multiple events and the power to make difficult skills look comfortable, Evyn is putting herself in position to become a serious contributor and a gymnast coaches will want to keep on their radar.

Ava Harwood brings a calm power to her gymnastics that makes every skill look controlled, confident, and purposeful. Her floor is already giving us plenty to look forward to, with a double pike that looks huge and has the potential to be a major highlight in her routine. On beam, her back handspring–layout step-out is steady and clean, showcasing the strong, composed presence she brings to the event. Her bars are shaping up to be another event worth watching this season. She's working to connect her huge Jaeger into her bail, adding an exciting combination to an already promising routine, and she has a full-in dismount waiting at the end. Her vault brings that same impressive strength, with powerful execution that immediately demonstrates just how much force she can generate.
