Off the Market: Aspen Foster

Big news broke this week as Aspen Foster is officially off the market. After taking visits to Michigan, Denver, Ohio State, and Stanford, Foster has decided to take her talents to California and compete for the Stanford Cardinals. Foster is set to join an already talented Stanford team that finished eighth at NCAA's this past season, making it their 2nd appearance in Fort Worth in the last three years.

As we've seen throughout her club career, Foster has tremendous potential to add to the team's success and become a consistent contributor right away. Last season she had an impressive year that included placing 1st on bars at State and Regionals, and placing 1st on vault at Regionals and Nationals.

The obvious standout for Foster is her power and amplitude on both floor and vault. At nationals, Foster competed a massive Yurchenko full, earning a 9.900, and has since been training an impressive Yurchenko double to add even more difficulty. If she brings this vault to competition, it could not only be an exciting addition to Stanfords lineup but also set her apart as one of the few competing this skill in NCAA Gymnastics.

Foster's dynamics on the leg events aren't the only thing that set her apart, her bars and beam should not be overlooked as well. On bars, she showcases strong handstand positions and dynamic release moves, while on beam her artistry and 180 leap positions stand out. Her ability to combine power with clean execution across all four events make her an exciting All Around gymnast to watch.

With her combination of power, execution, and continued upgrades, Foster is positioning herself well to be a consistent contributor in every Stanford lineup. She is an exciting addition to the program and a gymnast to keep an eye on throughout her collegiate career.
