The August Recruit Report: Class of 2029 Beam Prospects

The Class of 2029 is already showing plenty of promise on beam. This month's Recruit Report highlights a group of standout athletes bringing confidence, consistency, and impressive skill to one of gymnastics' most demanding events.    Kyndall Covington is a strong and confident beam competitor who capped her season with an impressive 9.5 at Regionals. Her current skills feature a powerful back handspring-layout stepout, cat leap-aerial, and back handspring-Gainer dismount, showcasing both her acrobatic ability and consistency on the event. Covington is also training significant upgrades, including a back handspring-tuck full series, switch leap full, and aerial-back handspring combination. With her competitive success and impressive difficulty in development, Covington is a beam prospect with plenty of potential to continue raising her ceiling.     Kira McIntyre is a promising beam prospect with a solid foundation and a focus on refining her execution. She currently competes a back handspring-layout stepout, front aerial-split jump, and round-off 1.5 dismount, showcasing a nice combination of acro and dance elements. McIntyre is also training a front toss while continuing to refine her existing skills. With her steady development and attention to consistency, she has plenty of potential to continue making strides on beam as she enters her sophomore season.     Eire Corbally is a steady and confident presence on beam, bringing poise and consistency to the event. Her routine features a back handspring-back handspring series and round-off full dismount, complemented by steady, controlled leaps. Corbally's confident presentation allows her to stay composed throughout her routine, making her a reliable competitor on the event. She is also developing several upgrades that could add another layer of difficulty, including a switch leap-switch half, split jump-wolf 3/4, and Gainer tuck full dismount. With her steady presence and continued skill development, Corbally is a beam prospect to watch from the Class of 2029.     Cayla Johnson is a steady and confident beam competitor with a strong tumbling foundation and plenty of difficulty in development. Her current routine features a back handspring-layout stepout, aerial, front tuck, and round-off 1.5 dismount, with a composed presence that allows her to consistently hit her skills. Johnson is already training an impressive range of upgrades, including back handspring-back handspring-layout and back handspring-layout-layout series, as well as a back handspring-Gainer full dismount and straddle half. She has even experimented with a back handspring-layout-layout-layout, showing just how much difficulty and ambition she has in her training. With her consistency and willingness to push her acro, Johnson is an exciting beam prospect from the Class of 2029.     Chandler Pemberton is a polished beam worker who combines strong acrobatic skills with clean lines and standout artistry. Her routine features a back handspring to chest mount, back handspring-layout stepout, cat leap-aerial, switch leap-split jump, and aerial-full dismount. She has a particularly refined presence on the event, with her attention to lines and presentation adding another dimension to an already strong routine. Pemberton is also training several exciting upgrades, including an aerial-back handspring series, front tuck mount, switch leap-switch half-back handspring, Onodi, and Barani. Naisha Mody is a consistent and composed beam competitor who brings impressive amplitude to her acro. Her back handspring-layout stepout has a notable float to it, creating plenty of lift and separation through the skill. She also competes an aerial and aerial-full dismount, showcasing her confidence and control throughout the routine. Mody is continuing to build on that foundation in training with an aerial-1.5 dismount and aerial-layout stepout combination. With her consistency, amplitude, and continued upgrades, Mody is a beam prospect with plenty of potential to make an impact in the Class of 2029.     Reagan Baker brings a strong combination of acro difficulty and versatility to the beam, with a routine packed with skills across the event. She competes a back handspring-back handspring-layout stepout series, aerial, back tuck, switch leap to 1/4 straddle, back handspring to chest mount, and round-off 1.5 dismount. Her routine showcases a strong foundation of both acrobatic and dance elements. Baker is already working toward significant upgrades, including a back handspring-layout-layout series, front aerial, front toss, and round-off double-full dismount. She is also developing higher-level dance elements such as sheep jump and ring jump. With so many upgrades in progress, Baker has plenty of room to continue increasing her difficulty and establishing herself as a standout beam prospect as she enters her sophomore year.     Addy Gordon is a poised beam competitor with a strong foundation of tumbling and dance elements. Her current routine features a back handspring-layout stepout, aerial, switch leap-split jump, and round-off 1.5 dismount, giving her a well-rounded combination of difficulty and variety. Gordon is already working toward exciting upgrades, including a front tuck and round-off double-full dismount. With additional difficulty developing and a solid competitive foundation already in place, Gordon is a beam prospect with plenty of potential to continue making strides in the Class of 2029.     Maria Verrone brings a polished combination of acro skill and presentation to the beam. She competes a back handspring-layout stepout, aerial, and round-off 1.5 dismount, while her strong presentation adds confidence and personality to the routine. Verrone's ability to perform her skills with poise gives her a particularly polished presence on the event. She is also developing several upgrades in training, including an aerial-sissone, Barani, and front tuck mount. With her clean presentation and continued expansion of her skill set, Verrone is an intriguing beam prospect entering her sophomore season.     Chloe Briggs brings a strong combination of tumbling skill, artistry, and showmanship to the beam. Her routine features a back handspring-layout stepout, front toss-split jump-beat jump, and back handspring-tuck 1.5 dismount. Her excellent showmanship gives the routine an extra spark, allowing her personality and confidence to shine throughout the event. Briggs is also working a Barani in training, adding another exciting skill to her beam repertoire. With her current difficulty, polished presentation, and continued development, Briggs is a beam prospect coaches should watch from the Class of 2029.     Aubrey Potter brings a beautiful blend of artistry and tumbling skill to her beam, with a routine that stands out for its polish and presentation. She competed a back handspring-aerial, switch leap-back handspring roll down, and cartwheel-full dismount, demonstrating both confidence and versatility on the event. Her great artistry adds another layer to the routine, giving her a distinctive presence on beam. Potter is also building on her current skill set in training with an aerial-back handspring series and switch leap-ring jump. Those upgrades could add even more difficulty while complementing the strong artistry that already defines her work on beam.     Caroline McMurtrie is a promising beam prospect with a solid tumbling foundation and several exciting upgrades in development. In competition, she showed a front toss, back handspring-layout stepout, and aerial-full dismount, demonstrating confidence and control across her routine. Her current combination of acro and dismount difficulty gives her a strong base to continue building from. McMurtrie is already expanding her beam repertoire in training, working an aerial-front toss connection, aerial to scale, and aerial-1.5 dismount. With multiple upgrades centered around her aerial work, she has an opportunity to add both difficulty and variety as she continues to develop on the event.     Best known for her standout work on floor, Kelly McDonough is quickly becoming an athlete to watch on beam as well. In her first Level 10 season, she showed just how much potential she has on the event, posting an impressive 9.55. That performance, combined with the upgrades she is developing, makes her beam work particularly intriguing heading into next season. McDonough has a solid skill set along with upgrades coming, including a piked front toss, back handspring-layout stepout, front aerial-back handspring series, and switch leap-Gainer full dismount. If she brings these skills into competition, she could make a significant jump in difficulty while adding another strong event to her repertoire. With her proven competitive ability and continued development, McDonough is one to keep an eye on as she expands her beam presence.     Sophia Pisani brings a clean, polished style to the beam, combining solid tumbling with strong artistry. Her current routine features a back handspring-layout stepout, switch leap-switch side, and piked Gainer dismount, with clean presentation throughout. She has a composed presence on the event that allows her skills and choreography to stand out. Pisani is also developing several exciting upgrades, including a back handspring-layout-layout series, Barani, aerial, and aerial-split jump. She is also working toward a back handspring-1.5 dismount, which could add a significant boost in difficulty. With her clean artistry and growing skill set, Pisani is an exciting beam prospect from the Class of 2029.     Tatum Wilson is a polished beam worker who combines confident acros with clean, long lines. Her current routine features a back handspring-layout stepout, aerial, and round-off tuck 1.5 dismount, creating a strong foundation of difficulty across the event. Her long lines add to the overall presentation and give her beam work a particularly clean look. Wilson is already working toward exciting upgrades, including a front toss and back handspring-layout-layout series. Those additions could give her routine another boost in difficulty while complementing the strong acrobatic foundation she already has. With her polished presentation and continued development, Wilson is a beam prospect to watch from the Class of 2029.
