Skill Spotlight: Beam Workers Who Bring Something Different

<p>For this article in the Skill Spotlight series, we will look at six gymnasts who are showing incredible ambition and unique skills. The balance beam requires both precision and confidence, but these gymnasts go above and beyond with skillsets that are rare on the event. Each of these athletes put a fun spin on an event that is typically the most nerve-wracking. She competed a front-aerial + side aerial this season, along with a front aerial to scale in the same routine. With Juliana's impressive technique, I am excited to see the upgrades she incorporates into her routines.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Sammi has undeniable style and confidence throughout her routine. She starts her routine with flares, which are commonly found on the pommel horse. Sammi's skillset also includes a standing front tuck and a round-off double back dismount. Be sure to put Sammi on your must watch list this upcoming season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Mia is a natural beam worker with lots of potential to show her rare skillset. She has a beautiful side-aerial and has been showing a side-aerial + Barani connection on social media. She has also seemed to upgrade to a switch-leap + gainer pike dismount on finish off her stunning routine. Mia will be a fun athlete to watch this season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Aisena has talent upon talent, especially on the balance beam. She has plenty of variety within her routine and utilizes her wonderful presentation skills. Aisena shows off a side-aerial switch leg + layout step-out for her series, along with a side-aerial switch leg to scale. With her prior experience and Nastia Cup appearance, we should be excited to see more from her.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Sophia shines on beam because of her presentation ability and proper technique. She competes an Onodi, which requires extreme precision and control. She also does a side-aerial + layout full dismount, which shows her natural talent for difficult acro skills. Sophia exhibits unique potential that will catch plenty of attention this season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Raivyn has a confident, yet poised demeanor on the beam. This will allow her to blend her consistency with high level skills that are not as common. She starts her routine with a front tuck mount + straight jump, which is a bold and respectable way to start any routine. She also incorporates impressive sideways jumps. Raivyn's overall talent and polished skill always stands out.</p>    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Conclusion:</h2>   <p>Ultimately, I will continuously be in awe of each of these gymnasts who try to push past the typical path on beam to find skills with high difficulty and uniqueness. These athletes show true fearlessness and courage that deserves celebration and recognition. Keep these athletes in mind this season when you crave a routine like no other.</p>
