As college coaches evaluate recruits, they often look beyond a gymnast's biggest skills. Clean execution, body position, rhythm, and long-term upside can be just as valuable as current difficulty. Region 4's August Athlete of the Month Millie Danaher embodies those qualities, entering her sophomore season as an athlete whose polished fundamentals provide an excellent foundation for continued progression.

Danaher already demonstrates the type of technique that translates well to the next level. On vault, she competes a Yurchenko layout with excellent height off the table, an extended body position, and the power necessary to continue increasing her difficulty. Her beam work is particularly eye-catching, combining elegant artistry with confident acrobatics, including a switch leap to switch leap series, aerial, standing layout stepout, back handspring-layout stepout, and an aerial to full-twisting dismount. She performs with composure and precision, giving every routine a polished, collegiate feel.

Floor is another event where Danaher's athleticism shines. She competes a dynamic 1½ twist to front layout and a front Rudi to full connection, blending power with controlled execution while maintaining strong presentation throughout her routine. On bars, she continues to showcase quality fundamentals with a toe shoot, ½ pirouette to Pak salto, and a clear hip handstand to double tuck dismount, displaying clean lines and efficient swing mechanics.

Perhaps most exciting from a recruiting standpoint is where her routines are headed. Danaher is currently training a front layout to front Rudi connection and double pike on floor, a layout-back handspring-layout series on beam, and both a Jaeger release and double layout dismount on bars. Those upgrades build naturally upon an already solid technical base and could significantly raise her scoring potential over the coming seasons.

With exceptional form, graceful presentation, and plenty of developmental runway still ahead of her, Danaher is an athlete whose ceiling continues to rise. As she enters her sophomore campaign, she has all the tools to develop into one of Region 4's most intriguing recruiting prospects in the Class of 2029.
