It’s a Balancing Act: Top Beam Routines at the 2026 Nationals

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At developmental nationals the balance beam featured an incredibly tight scoring window with the top 15 gymnasts separated by just 3 tenths. Here is a look at how the top athletes showcased their precision, composure, and individual style on the national stage.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Raeya Linton delivered the top scoring beam routine at nationals (9.875) showcasing her skill, difficulty, and finesse throughout the routine. A few highlights from Linton's routine were her beautiful switch leap pike jump connection and front pike acro. You can catch Linton at Stanford next season where she has committed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Following close behind from the Junior division was Abigail Ballard(9.825) who executed her routine with crisp lines, confidence, and a beautiful cat leap front toss connection. Tying with Ballard were Kiari Sparks and Cailin Dewell. Sparks put up a solid performance, combining artistry and skill with her beautiful switch leap switch leap connection, and Dewell (9.825) exuded control and poise throughout her routine, sticking her round-off double full dismount.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>University of Florida Commit, Ariana Barksdale rounded out the top five and brought the wow factor with her sharp lines, triple acro series and front aerial swing though, earning an impressive 9.800.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2026 graduates, Lily Caranci and Shea Orlando tied for first within the senior F division with a 9.775. Caranci, a University of Denver commit, served a confident and creative routine with a front aerial to back handspring step-out layout step-out connection. Whereas, University of Michigan commit Orlando, poise and strength stood out with her double wolf turn and back handspring step-out gainer full dismount.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Imani White(9.775) is also a 2026 graduate and headed for University of Missouri this fall. She performed a spectacular triple wolf turn followed by double wolf turn and front aerial back handspring step-out connection highlighting her precision and poise. Elizaveta(9.775) Grebenkova, graduated a year early and has committed to the University of Alabama. Grebenkova showed her depth and composure with a beautiful, flowing routine featuring an Ondi to backhandspring step-out connection and front aerial to split quarter to split half connection.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Finishing in the top ten and tying for fifth place within the junior F division were Eliot Buteux and Maddison Boggs. Buteux(9.750) impressed with her triple acro series and switch leap wolf three quarter jump, highlighting her skill and fluidity throughout her routine. Boggs'(9.750) routine showcased her sharp lines and confidence with her double wolf turn and solid acro series execution. Boggs' is a 2027 graduate and has committed to the University Of Maryland.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Addie Sarisky, Jordyn Johnson, and Malia Fang also scored an impressive 9.750 at the 2026 Developmental Nationals in May. University of Alabama commit, Sarisky showed excellent control during her routine performing a beautiful front toss and round-off one-and-half dismount. Johnson brought confidence with her routine, including clean, strong landings and a show stopping round-off double dismount, sticking the landing. Fang delivered a stand out routine highlighted by her artistry and precision throughout, featuring a beautiful acro series and front tuck to earn first place in her junior D division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Closing out the top 15 beam routines and separated by less than a tenth was Ariana Frechette, earning a 9.725. Frechette's stellar routine showcased her imperturbability and artistry throughout, which included an impressive triple acro series and round-off double full dismount. Be sure to catch Frechette's future performances at University of Kentucky where she has committed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Whether through their acro series or dance elements this talented group of gymnasts demonstrated incredible poise, control, and confidence on one of gymnastics most unforgiving apparatuses. It will be exciting to follow their progress next season, whether it be within their regions or at the collegiate level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
